Believe it or not, activities for the 2010 Trojan Football season are already underway.The team has begun it off season training program and the passing league is well into its winter season.It is now our turn to get into shape for the 2010 season.
You are invited to become an active member of the Gridiron Club starting with our initial meeting for 2010.The Gridiron Club all members meeting will be held on Monday, February 8th, at 7:00pm in the Weston High School cafeteria.The principal activities will be the nomination and election of board members as well as the committee chair selections.A number of committees have been established to distribute the work load as well as maximize the benefit for the overall program.Detailed below are the committees and a brief description:
Memorial Day Fair:
·Responsible for coordinating booth registration and daily set up and take down with Weston Memorial Day Fair Committee
·Responsible for volunteer staffing
·Responsible for coordinating booth activities – raffle, silent auction, spirit wear & spirit items through Spirit Wear Chair, water-boy and cheerleader for a day
·Publicity
Spirit Wear (contacts for vendors have been established):
·Responsible for choosing logos and apparel and sales for Memorial Day Fair and Fall Fundraiser
·Responsible for choosing logos and apparel and sales for Blue/Gold game
·Responsible for choosing and selling spirit items (magnets, seat cushions)
·Responsible for coordinating possible game and event sales
Banner Program
·Responsible for coordinating solicitation of businesses to purchase banners and/or program ads
·Responsible for obtaining banners, program ads and website ads in proper format to coordinate with Game Day Program Chair, Website Master and Banner Company
Home Game Day Program
·Responsible for coordinating and designing game day program with photos and advertisements from the banner program
·Responsible for obtaining player roster and stats for both teams
·Responsible for obtaining senior write-ups for senior profiles
·Responsible for parent ad sales for senior day gameprogram
·Responsible for printing and distributing program on game day
General Fundraising
·Responsible for coordinating Parking Spot Auction at Kickoff BBQ
·Responsible for coordinating Kickoff BBQ Raffle
·Responsible for developing and implementing new fundraising ideas
General Food Committee
·Responsible for coordinating barbeque for Blue/Gold game in June
·Responsible for coordinating snacks for return from away games
·Responsible for coordinating food and drinks for various other events
Expectations for the 2010 season are high and we will need to do our part to help the team achieve their goals.We look forward to your participation and continued support for Trojan Football. The meeting information is detailed below:
